Current practice

Artist, Lecturer & Doctoral Fellow, Institute of Cultural Studies, University of South East Norway,

STUDIOTASSY was established as an operational tool for diverse creative collaborative practices outdoors encompassing sculpture, performance, playful design, community events, architectural and landscape artworks and education by artist, designer & researcher, Tassy E. Thompson.

Tassy grew up in the mountains of Scotland - playing, learning, making in and with raw materials in large scale, wild spaces. Her work is inspired by expansive landscapes (physical & conceptual) and she is committed to collaborative processes which have delivered many original and award winning play designs and public realm works. Tassy’s work, since 1990 has been multi-disciplinary - encompassing play design, performance, site specific sculpture, education, social action and environmental work. Tassy currently practices as an artist researcher and is a doctoral fellow and university lecturer exploring landscape and sustainability in relation to play, performance and education.

My aim is to be curious. Curious about place & occasion, about materials & meaning. Researching movement & matter in context.
